Precision tungsten steel (tungsten carbide)

Tungsten steel (Cemented Carbide) definition
Tungsten carbide, also known as cemented carbide, is a sintered composite material containing at least one metal carbide component. The grain size of the carbide component (or phase) is typically in the range of 0.2-10 micrometers, and the carbide grains are bonded together using a metallic binder. The binder is usually cobalt (Co), but for special applications, nickel (Ni), iron (Fe) or other metals and alloys may also be used.

Tungsten Steel for EDM Slow Walking Wire
Special Tungsten Carbide for EDM and Slow-Speed wire
In the process of tungsten steel machining, electric processing equipment such as EDM and slow-feeding wire is usually used. In the process of EDM, the instantaneous temperature is as high as 8000℃, which makes the bonding agent in tungsten steel vaporized, forming uneven pits on the processed surface, and the life span is greatly reduced in the process of using. Xia Yang company added special elements and special process of tungsten steel, after repeated tests finally solved this problem, making EDM, slow walking wire machining process, the bonding agent vaporization melting out greatly reduced. Thus, the service life is improved, which is more than 50% higher than general tungsten steel, and can completely replace the imported similar products.

Slow-feeding wire-cutting process characteristics
Slow-wire wire-cutting is a high-precision EDM technology. The core difference between it and fast-wire is that the copper electrode wire moves in one direction at low speed and is usually discarded after a single cut, thus ensuring excellent dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
Our special tungsten materials are optimized for this process, with excellent electrical conductivity and thermal stability, which can effectively reduce electrode wire loss and improve processing efficiency and quality.
